- Fiction No
Friends and kinfolk, I ain’t here, I done gone home, be certain.
No more trials or test, I come into my rest; no more pain or hurtin’.
Weep then a season, if you must, but let not grief control.
This body’s vacant till the LORD’s return, but that’s ‘cause the LORD has claimed my soul.
Done gone home to join the eternal; Heaven’s sweet, sweet song.
And faith be sure, they’ll come a day, when y’all will all come along.
And in the meantime, let that same faith, each day to hold and to take,
And affirm our LORD and His precious word in every step y’all make.
