Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. To get where we’re going, we do what we must.

But if that’s all we do, and nothing beside, well, life’s gonna be a mighty short ride.

What we accomplish, LORD, how we behave; leaves a mark on those that stand by the grave.

How we’re remembered, what folks recall. Did we live for a purpose or for nothing at all?

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. So where is our faith, LORD, where indeed is our trust?
