Pull up a chair, Lord, and sit for a spell. I need to spend time with you.
I know you’ll listen with patience and love, ‘til I get all the way through.
Hear me tell of my trials and valleys, while wanting just mountain tops.
Helping me ever to plow my fields, though, and harvest my spiritual crops.
Learning the difference ‘twixt needs and wants, and where to place my attention.
Then let thanks and praise be the words that I raise, your Glory be what I mention.
Pull up a chair, Lord, and sit for a spell. I need to spend time with you.
‘Til in true circumspection, I find your direction in all that you’d have me to do.
