To ride on the shepherd’s shoulders, when we cannot walk behind;
He takes extra weight, for His love is so great, none like it will we ever find.
He gently carries the troubled lamb, who strayed from the way and was lost.
He bears the additional burden; He’s willingly paid the cost.
So we ride on the shepherd’s shoulders, till safely back home in the pen,
Though safely at home, should we ever more roam, the shepherd stands ready again.
