I am the dirt taken from the Earth’s green ground.
He took my form, mixed water-created a mound.
His hands carefully kneaded the texture required.
The mixture to be perfect-for the purpose desired.
Upon the wheel I turn, his hands produce a groove.
I turn and turn, my shape becoming new.
He keeps me pliable, the water he adds.
Carefully he watches-the eyes of a Dad.
If too hard I become, he starts over again.
He created me a purpose, he knows I can.
Meticulous he shapes, the artist he is.
The vision and purpose-all are his.
My design complete, setting out to dry.
The form now set, his vision now mine.
No longer simple, no longer sand.
I was specially designed by the Potter’s Hand.
