Butterfly

Christian Author Writer Her body squeezed into the small cocoon
Changes she makes, in her little room.
She has all she wants, all she needs -
As she waits for the moment to be set free.

The moment came to stretch her arms
Her quarters are tight and she is warm.
She pushed and pushed breaking away the walls.
She extended her body and now stands tall.

The walls now broken, she feels the cool breeze.
She pushed her body through the hole she squeezed.
Her heart now racing, her arms set free.
She no longer doubts, but she believes.

Her body escaped the swaddle of her past;
She saw her new wings, the change at last.
She spreads her wings to inspect the color.
She began to flap and now she hovers.

Higher and higher she begins to fly.
She is no longer ugly; but now a butterfly.
She glanced back to remember the place of her past,
The cocoon is behind her, she is free at last.

Be free, be free!
Little butterfly - you are me!
