Somewhere In Time

Christian Author Writer Gazing beyond the great forest before me, a beautiful mountain I can see,
I'm pondering, if I were on top of that mount would there be a place for me.
All this musing makes me feel confined, O' how my spirit yearns to be free.

So I started on a journey walking through the trees, this path's not easy to find,
Even though I am going toward the mountain, there are times it's most unkind,
At first the day was bright, now it's turning dark, it's really working on my mind.

From afar these trees were such a delight, but now their bringing much despair,
My quest is the mountain, but these trees, these trees, are more than I can bear.

What started as blessing has turned to a nightmare, and sometimes full of pain
these trees are depriving me of freedom, precious freedom, and ability to obtain.

Trees O' Trees please move from my path! I seek only truth, I wish you no harm,
I am desiring the will of my Father, His joy, and peace ...no need for your alarm.

I wonder are these trees really men walking?...what is their goal, their destiny?
Are they of another spirit, seducing, causing confusion and discord for me?

A strange wind is blowing in the leaves, as they whisper..come this is the way,
but it soon turns to vapor, quickly fading, and they themselves bend and sway

O' Great Mountain I need the path!..A clarion call, a way, that's tried and true.
My soul cries for reality..send thy blessed Spirit, let Him fall like heavenly dew.

The prophets, and Apostles preached, they have been to that Holy place
these men have seen its glory, and beheld that fountain face to face
a blood filled fount flowing precious direction, and it's waiting to embrace.

As darkness falls, I hear strange voices, are these trees really men talking?
so many opinions, so much direction, my view of the mount they are blocking.

Maybe I should turn back, give up this quest...and pray that "somewhere in time",
the mountain will hear my plea, grant my sight, enabling me to make the climb.

I fell to my knees, my soul cried out, Lord, I know not which way to go!
how can I know the way?....Are these trees really just men walking?

Wait! Wait!..what's that I hear?, a clear, and sure voice beckoning me,
thundering from the mountain,"This is My Way, now hear my Decree"

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me,
So Let not your heart be troubled, I will come, where I am, there ye may also be.

My light will break upon you, shining through this dark uncertain day,
it will show you the path..not "somewhere in time"..no need for the delay.

Take your eye off the trees, look up to My light, and on to the mountain we shall go
I will lead you out and away from yourself, and diversions, this my path you will know
your fears, and follies, shall all pass away, no longer you'll be tossed to and fro.

Follow My Spirit stay with my word, you can sing the song of Zion even in a strange land
for those trees may really be men walking...concealing my path...if in error they stand.

Your "Somewhere in Time" is here and now!, stop looking for something futuristic
people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, following trees will make you pessimistic.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, His path to the mountain top is clear,
Jesus is the Way, and you can sing His victory song as long as you are sincere.

Jerry Lee Kay Sr.

Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 2 Timothy 2:14-21 (KJV)

God Bless You
