What Must The Church Repent Of?

In a previous article, I said the church needs to turn from her evil ways before God will heal this land. That was based on:
2Chron:7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Jer: 23:21-22: 21: I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. 22: But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
Many, I’m sure are not clear about what the church in America needs to repent of or turn away from. It is ungodliness, irreverence, and lack of piety. This is based on what God has said in Dan: 8. I believe the times we are living in right now line up with Dan: 8 and 11.
Dan: 9-12: And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. 10: And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. 11: Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. 12: And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
It says God‘s people were given into his hand by reason of transgression. The amplified version says this: 12 And the host [the chosen people] was given [to the wicked horn] together with the continual burnt offering because of the transgression [of God’s people—their abounding irreverence, ungodliness, and lack of piety]. And righteousness and truth were cast down to the ground, and it [the wicked horn] accomplished this [by divine permission] and prospered.)
13-14: Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? 14: And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
So, God intends to cleanse the church at some point. But here I am showing that the evil ways that the church must repent of are the ones she is doing because of her ungodliness, irreverence, and lack of piety.
These transgressions cause Christians to live carelessly. That is to say they do not give a thought to what their speech or behavior might be doing to others. They do not give a thought about whether their choices will please God or not and they do not stop to think about the consequences of their behavior, speech, and appearance. They do not live cautiously, picking and choosing what they will wear, what they will watch, what they will read, or what company they will keep, what comes out of their mouth, etc.
Therefore they dress, act, and talk a lot like the world does. When God said come out of the world and I will be a Father, He was not talking about not going to strip clubs or x-rated movies. He was talking about coming out of the world’s system--their whole way of doing, thinking, and being. Ungodliness is living any other way than what the Bible tells us to live.
2Cor: 6: 17: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18: And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Jms:4:4: Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Irreverence is not giving God the proper respect and adherence to His will that He bought with the blood of His Son. That’s right, God sent Jesus to reconcile us to Him so that He could be a loving, caring Father to us--not a sugar daddy. Irreverence has been committed anytime one of God’s children think they can choose whether they will obey Him this time or when they think they have a choice or even a say in what they will do and who they will be. God is God. He knows best. He and He alone can help us make good choices. Christians must understand that they are little children to God and are not of age to live on their own or to make their own choices about life’s important matters.
Lack of piety goes right along with it. Piety is a very important attribute of a real Christian. It keeps the one who exercises it out of trouble and cleaving to the Father.
Here is an example of piety:
Heb: 5:5-9: So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. 6: As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. 7: Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 8: Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9: And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Let the church turn from her evil ways and put on the full armor of God.
