"I shall be anointed with fresh oil" (Psalm 92:10)
Grieved, despondent, and weeping she ran from the church building after giving testimony of her wretched life. The price tag that was attached to a time in her life when she had turned her back on God that she might have the desires of her heart. Now she not only was a "Weeper", she had become a "Seeker."..One that was weeping because of bad decisions...One that is now seeking to restore a life of peace and contentment...A life by her own confession she had previously experienced. "Seeking" A life that could be returned to her only by the anointing of the Holy Spirit and a Love that comes straight from the portals of Glory.
Satan, hell and all of its associates are liars, masters of deceit, hell in itself is living a lie. You ask, what do you mean Poppa? Well, I am so glad you ask!...Hell dispatched a spirit under the supervision of Satan himself to convince this woman that there is no hope for her, and he used the word of God to do it....She said her father was a preacher of some sort and he told her she had become reprobate and there was no hope for her......Now don't hang up on me!..Poppa fixin to drop the "J Bomb" here and do some Holy Ghost preachin!
The Bible makes it unmistakably plain that in the last days, the world will be filled with difficulties, the like of which have never before been known in the history of mankind. In fact, the Holy Spirit was so committed to making sure we understand what will occur in the last days that in Second Timothy 3:1, it is as if He points His prophetic finger two thousands years into the future and specifically foretells what will occur at the end of the age.
Paul wrote these words by inspiration of the Holy Spirit in Second Timothy 3:1: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." Notice that this verse begins by saying, "This know...." The word "know" is the Greek word ginosko, the Greek word for knowledge. But in this verse, it is used in the present imperative tense, which means it is a strong command to recognize that there is something that must be known, must be recognized, and must be acknowledged....Having this knowledge is not optional; it is mandatory.....The verse continues, "This know also, that in the last days...." The word "last" in this verse is from the word eschatos, which points to the ultimate end of a thing˜such as the last month of the year; the last week of the month; the last day of a week; or the very extreme end of the age. In other words, the word eschatos doesn't merely describe the last days in general, but the very last of the last days. It was used in classical Greek literature to depict a place furthest away such as the very ends of the earth. In this sense, it also signified something that is final.....With this word eschatos, the Holy Spirit through Paul takes us right into the end of the age to enlighten our eyes and help us see what the world environment will be like in the concluding moments of the age. Paul goes on to say that "perilous" times will mark that final age. "Perilous" is the Greek word chalepos˜a word used to describe ugly words that, when spoken, are hurtful and emotionally hard to bear. It is also used in various pieces of literatures to depict wild, vicious, uncontrollable animals that are unpredictable and dangerous. It always carries the idea of an action, place, person, or thing that is harsh, harmful, and filled with high risk....This is the very word used in Matthew 8:28 to portray the two demon-possessed men who were so legendary in the country of the Gadarenes. It says, "And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way." The words "exceeding fierce" is this same word chalepos. This means the two demon-possessed men were like wild, vicious, and uncontrollable animals, completely unpredictable and dangerous. Simply being in the region near these men placed one's life in jeopardy because these demonized men were chalepos˜harsh and harmful, presenting a high risk to anyone in the region.........Taking the definitions of all these words into consideration, Second Timothy 3:1 could be taken to mean:..."You emphatically must know what I am about to tell you! In the very last part of the last days, in the very end of the age, hurtful, harmful, dangerous, unpredictable, uncontrollable, high-risk periods of time will come."
Considering the events that have shaken the world in recent years, months and even days, we shouldn't be shocked to hear that this is the meaning of Second Timothy 3:1. Dangerous, harmful, high-risk periods of time have already arrived! We are living in a generation that faces world threats no other generation has ever known. As always, the Holy Spirit was correct in what He was trying to tell us. But why did the Holy Spirit forewarn us about these events? Were His prophetic warnings intended to scare or to fill us with fear? No! The Holy Spirit, as He always has done, wanted to prepare God's people so they could be spiritually alert and ready to minister to people who suffer harm as a result of the events that will grip the world at the end of the age. According to Second Timothy 3:1, we are living in an age that will be marked by "perilous" world events. Dear Friend that bothers me, but not near as much as the onslaught of the perilous spiritual workings of the great deceiver. Let us therefore be wise, protecting our minds, our family members, and every other area of our lives by renewing our minds with the Word of God. Rather than hide in fear, let's get God's perspective about what we should be doing to help people who have been victimized by this age. We must move out and step up to the plate with the power of God and be ready to minister to those who have suffered harm because of the times in which we live!...Beloved one truly can "Believe a lie and be damned"
I told the choir to sing and the congregation to pray. I went out the side door to try and intercept the young woman before she got off the parking lot. All I could see was Brother Deal standing there with his back to me, and I heard him praying, he had beat me out the front door with those long legs of his. I approached him and this is what I heard....
"Lord, I am asking You to lay Your hand upon this sister in a brand-new way today. Rub the oil of Your Spirit deep into her life˜and let the powerful fragrance of the anointing be felt, sensed, and seen by others who are near us. Let her carry Your power and demonstrate the aroma of Your Presence, so please lay Your hand on her now and let the anointing deeply penetrate her! I confess that God's hand is on my life. Because of this, the Spirit of the Lord rests mightily upon me. Just as He anointed Jesus, I am also anointed to preach the Gospel to the poor; to heal the brokenhearted; to preach deliverance to the captives; to give recovery of sight to the blind; and to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. I carry the power of Jesus Christ, and I sense the aroma of God's Presence! And in the Mighty Blessed Precious Name of my Master! I speak These words of life,....."Such as I have Give I Thee"
As I got up close to him, around the front of him, I saw the woman in his arms, clinging for dear life to him. Brother Deal weighed just under 400 lbs, so I couldn't see her from his backside. Sister Deal was right on my heels, she went to the back side of the lady joined hands with her husband and they had that sister trapped in a love lock, a circle of love if you will. She couldn't have gotten away if she wanted to.
What were you doing Poppa? The answer is, nothing...I was eye witness to the power of a Holy God at work through two people that had never sang a solo , taught a Sunday school class, nor preached a sermon from a pulpit. "I'ts called a New Testament Church"
When you don't know what else to do and when you have no one else to turn to, that's usually when God's resurrection power begins to operate in the greatest measure! You see, there's no such thing as no hope, I am gonna back my ears and say it again dear neighbor, There is no such thing as no hope! As long as there is a loving Heavenly Father you can call on, there is still hope for us! If we learn to rely on Him, that seemingly dry dead-end place in your life that you're facing right now can become a new beginning! Call out to your Heavenly Father right now. Expect Him to release His resurrection power on your behalf to turn your dead-end situation around!
O' Dear friend give me just a moment more....This so reminds me of another story in another time, the miracle of one crying out at the "Gate Beautiful."
"Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus;"... Acts Chapter 3..."Such as I have give I Thee"..."Such as I Have Give I Thee".
Beloved if you are craving a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit on your life today why don't you go before the Great Anointer and allow Him to do that for you. This is precisely what David was referring to when he said, "... I shall be anointed with fresh oil"
The word "anoint" that is used primarily in the Old Testament Septuagint and the Greek New Testament comes from the Greek word chrio. This word originally denoted the smearing or rubbing of oil or perfume upon an individual. For example, if a patient came to see his physician because he had sore muscles, the physician would pour oil upon his own hands; then he would begin to deeply rub that oil into the sore muscles of his patient. That penetrating application of oil would be denoted by the Greek word chrio. So technically speaking, the word "anoint" has to do with the rubbing or smearing of oil upon someone else. When I hear the word "anoint," I immediately think not only of the oil, but of the hands of the Anointer! Oil was very expensive in biblical times; therefore, rather than tip the bottle of oil downward and freely pour it upon the recipient, a person would first pour the oil into his hands and then apply it to the other person. For this reason, I refer to the anointing as a "hands-on" situation. It took someone's hands to apply the oil. When God anointed our lives, God Himself˜the Great Anointer˜filled His hands with the essence of the Spirit and then laid His mighty hands upon our lives, pressing the Spirit's power and anointing ever deeper into us. So when we speak of a person who is anointed, we are actually acknowledging that the hand of God is on that person. The strong presence of the anointing that we see or feel is a signal to let us know that God's hand is personally resting on that individual's life. Therefore, if you would like a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit upon your life, you must come before the Great Anointer! He alone can give you what you need. Open your heart to God, and allow Him to lay His hand upon your life in a new way.
Dear friend I came to tell you there is no devil in hell big enough to stop the flow, the power of the Holy Spirit. ..It doesn't make any difference how big the mistake you may have made, He specializes in turning 'Mistakes into Masterpieces', 'Sadness into Gladness', He will take you from your 'Quicksand and Wasteland into the Gloryland'. His love for you shall never cease, And by His Holy Spirit He will cause you to know His 'increase'. Poppa what will I need to do to accomplish all this?..Simply say..Help Me Jesus, "I shall be anointed with fresh oil" and believe it!....We have forgiveness for the past, joy for the present and hope for the future.
There is no place for Poppa to stop, I feel like having church. Glory to God! so I will just close this letter by telling you, the young woman went home with Sister and Brother Deal. It is not as it may seem, she actually was and is, a successful business woman. She stayed with the Deals for several months, went back home, sold her home, relocated closer to them and they did a joint move of adopting one another...They became as a family and She took care of them until their deaths... She no longer was a "Weeper," and she found what she was "Seeking"......What I'm talking about here is called ..."The Real Deal"
God Bless You
Poppa
