Come Out From Among Them

Christian Author Writer 2Cor: 6:14-18: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15: And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16: And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18: And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

7:1: Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

(The post-modern church is careless and reckless. This article is to admonish Christians to repent of it and get serious with God. The above scripture is just one of many that the church is not practicing.)

True Christians renew their mind with the Word of God.
Rom: 12: 1-2: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

True Christians earnestly seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Matt: 6:33-34: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

(If you are seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness with all diligence and if you are renewing your mind with the Word of God, you are in a good position to begin to be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. You have been taught to be kind and to be good, but there is a whole lot more to it than that.

God created you to bestow His love upon, just as any good parent desires to have children so they can bestow love upon them. For the relationship to work well for both parties, there must be a bonding and then there must be the establishment of authority based opon who needs to watch over and take care of and who needs watching over and taken care of. The one in charge is the one who does the watching over and taking care of.

We started this article by quoting 2Cor: 6:14-7:1. Those scriptures tell us how to bond with God the Father and how to be assured of the closeness and communication that all Christians crave with God. You really do have to come out from among them. You really do have to separate yourself from unclean influences in order to have a close personal relationship with God.

I know that many claim to have this relationship, yet they have obvious sin in their lives. They are deluded. What they have is a figment of their own imagination. The true Father/child relationship is based upon covenant. Your part is to trust and obey. God’s part is to be your Father. You cannot trust and obey someone you do not know well and God cannot teach, guide, lead, and help--be a Father to one who will not trust Him or obey Him.

So talking about recklessness the first one I site is neglecting the Word--neglecting to read it every day and neglecting to apply it to their lives. It is the mirror. We look into it to see how we look as we abide in Christ Jesus.

Recklessness seems to be the order of the day for the world and for the church. The second one is related to the first and that is not being careful about who you hang out with, what you watch on TV, movies, and internet, what you read, what you think about and what you listen to.

We need to protect our heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Prov: 4:23 If you listen to worldly music, your heart will be full of it. The same goes for all those other areas. What happens when your heart is full of worldly thinking? You cannot obey the Word of God. Your house will be built on sand. You will think and act like the world and will not understand God’s kingdom nor will you be able to participate in it. For it will be an alien country to you.

This leads to the third area of recklessness--what you wear. Many are convinced today that what you wear is not important. They have been duped. If you are looking into the mirror of God’s Word and are a doer of it, you will soon see that Christians consider other in all that they do. To dress scantily, or, sloppily, or unkempt makes you a bad witness for the Lord and in many cases a stumbling block.)

Then there is all this sloppy, reckless talk going on among Christians.
Mt:15:11: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Mt:12:36: But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Lk:6:45: A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Eph: 4:17-30: This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18: Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 19: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20: But ye have not so learned Christ; 21: If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23: And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24: And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25: Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26: Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27: Neither give place to the devil. 28: Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 29: Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30: And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Eph: 5:1-5: Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2: And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3: But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4: Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5: For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

(Speaking of foolish jesting, this joking about and in fun “getting even” is dangerous. I don’t know of one person who actually knows as a reality that God has said: Vengeance is mine, sayith the Lord.

Rom: 12:19: Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Jesus tells us to love our enemies and do good to those who spitefully use us, so that is the Christian’s mindset on the matter. If that were the case, would not the fooling around be--instead of, “I’ll get you for that.” it would be, “God loves you and I do to.” or “You are forgiven for that.” Not as much fun only because you are not walking by the Spirit.

The list of foolish jesting coming out of Christian’s mouths is large. This is one example. Many may think…Oh, lighten up. But I say, “No! God forbid. Let’s get biblically-minded.”)

1Cor: 15:47-48: The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48: As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
