My Take on Anne Rice's New Position

Anne Rice announced that she is leaving Christianity because she just couldn't be "anti-gay, anti-feminist" and so forth. Dr. Russell Moore says she’s just kicking against the goads and for us to pray for her and expect her to come around.
I think that a person would have to be very unstable or shallow to become convinced that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of the world and then when that person doesn’t like some of the no no’s, they ditch the whole thing. Sounds more like the second group in the parable of the sower. She received the word with joy, but when trouble came on account of the word, she fell away.
I do give her credit for knowing that if you receive some of the Bible as true instruction, you must receive all of it as true instruction. There are many who consider the Bible like a buffet lay out--you pick and choose what you want.
We stand on 2Tim: 3:16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Jesus is the living Word and He backed the scriptures all the way. He that hath the Son of God hath confidence in the Holy Bible.
We can still pray for her as Pastor Russell Moore suggested. And she can still repent and be saved from sin and death, but she will come on God’s terms, not her own.
To set the record straight, Christians love gays and lesbians, but they hate sin. Christians want gay and lesbians to be reconciled to God and receive power to live a godly life.
What happened to Anne Rice and what happens to a lot of people who consider themselves Christians is that they have bought into the world’s kind of love instead of God’s kind of love.
The world looks at the human being who has embraced a perverted lifestyle and they are told that the person can’t help it or even that they were born with that orientation and the world’s kind of love, understanding, and grace concludes that it is unkind and uncaring to condemn their preferences and put a stigma on their way of life.
So the worldly “Christian” buys into the idea that man must have put those things about homo-sexually in the Bible and that God doesn’t really feel that way. And the worldly good person concludes that Christians are just too narrow-minded.
But God’s love hates perversion because it causes great harm. That perverted attraction and lifestyle hurts. All who have to do with it are harmed. There is the deep-down knowledge that it is wrong and the guilt--they feel deep within that what they are doing is unnatural. It’s unnatural because God is the author of nature and He created sex and he created it to be a manifold blessing in the lives of married couples.
Gen: 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen: 2:24: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
To get rid of the guilt a person must either repent of the perversion or deny that it is a perversion. The second harm is that the offender must now live and think at odds with the creator and this usually leads to many other harmful behaviors. Thirdly, there is the physical damage done by the perverted behavior and by the risky lifestyle. Fourthly, there is the harmful influence on their family, friends, and society.
Matt: 18:6-11: But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7: Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! 8: Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. 9: And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. 10: Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. 11: For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Fifthly, they do not have eternal life which is in the Son. Jesus taught that God made them male and female. Jesus taught that the scriptures cannot be broken.
1Jn: 5:11-12: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12: He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Matt: 19: 4-5: And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5: And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh.
Jn: 10:35: If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
So you see that God’s kind of love sets things up to avoid all things that cause harm. Man’s love makes exceptions and allowances to make the task easier and in so doing they let in some harm which usually leads to more harm which finally ends up very harmful.
That is what is happening in America today. We have progressed to this place where America itself is in great jeopardy and the people are in great sin and derision. We have been compromised! When will mankind learn that compromise means compromised benefits. Compromised beliefs means compromised truth, wisdom, and understanding, which leads to more and more corruption. Fidelity to God and His Word means life and life more abundantly.
