My, My, My, what an awesome time I am having on the mountain top, wonderful fellowship with my Lord and all the others that are here. I think that I will always be able to feel the presence of the ancient ones. I know that they have already walked these paths that I am now walking, on this journey called life. And I am so very glad they were willing to leave their testimony for me, for daily use, for guidance and encouragement along the way. The wonderful thing about it all is that not only do I have these great testimonies, but I also have the testimony of these that are walking with me, in my time on this earth.
O' how I love to hear what the Master is doing for my fellow Christians. I can feel the anointing as they pen the things that are going on in their walk of faith.
Wait! Wait! I can hear a voice from the cloud of witnesses that are around me, it is the voice of the one called Peter.
Silver and Gold have I none, but " Such as I Have Give I Thee "
And I said Master what is he trying to tell me? And the Holy Spirit swept me away to another time.
And I turned and I can see Simon Barjona wielding a sword, full of anger, and cutting off the ear of a roman soldier, I can see Simon Barjona, because of stress and fear, denying that he ever knew his beloved Savior. And I "heard a rooster crow", I saw Simon Barjona weeping and fading into the crowd, "I'm going fishing" the big mouthed impulsive braggart had been brought to his knees. "Such as I Have Give I Thee"
I can see Saul of Tarsus in ruthless relentless hot pursuit of these followers of the one called Jesus of Nazareth, breathing out threatening's, and slaughter toward them. He was full of zeal and defending the faith, even to the point of being instrumental in their death. "Such as I Have Give I Thee"
And suddenly I can see a young man called in to the ministry, on fire for God, and full of the zeal to preach, accepting the pastorate of a small church that was so close to death, he wondered why the doors had not already been closed, but because he felt led to take the church, he was convinced he could bring revival to these folks. And since he knew every thing about God, and he had been to bible college and had all of his ducks in a row as far as doctrine is concerned, and his theology was correct without a doubt!, he was going to give the devil a black eye and lead these folks into heavenly bliss. In spite of the fact that this church had a reputation of being a pastor killer and I can see him as he began to preach, and the more he preached the more the church began to pull back from him, and the more they pulled back the harder he preached, after a while when he went into the pulpit, he would preach so hard the feathers, hide, blood and guts would fly all over the place, and the children of God began to get sharp with him, and some wouldn't talk with him at all. and he couldn't understand why this was happening, until one day a precious old Lady, a saint full of the Holy Spirit, ask him why he was so full of anger?, the church members were treating him the same way he was treating them ! "Such as I have Give I Thee"
And I said Master these men thought they were doing the right thing ! And the Holy Spirit whispered to me, it is needful that you have understanding."as a man thinketh in his heart so is he" whatever is inside, that is what will come outside.
If you are full of gossip, full of envy, lust, stubborn, a liar, haughty in sprit, anger, hateful, malice, untrustworthy, you can be sure your sins will find you out, I said Master, I thought sin was more like killing and robbing and drunkenness and such as that and the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, sin is to "miss the mark", and creates a barrier to God and his fellowship and will kill your testimony.
And the Master spoke to me and said Jacob could not inherit the promises because that was the man the flesh had made of him. the Father had prepared the inheritance for "Israel", the man that only He could make of Jacob.
It was no good for Simon Barjona to try to be an apostle, for that was the flesh man. Father had called "Peter"the man only He could make of him. It was no good for Saul of Tarsus to defend the faith, for that was the man of the flesh. Father wanted "Paul the Apostle"and only He could make him into "Paul". Abraham discovered it when he went down to Egypt and lied to pharaoh, Moses discovered it at Mirabah, Samson discovered it in the arms of Delilah, David discovered it when he committed adultery with Bathsheba and killed Urriah.
God never intended to improve things for Israel under Pharaoh,he wanted to exchange their land, Israel believed God enough to get out, but they didn't believe him enough to get in. Instead they sought to establish a new way of life in the wilderness, little wonder that their new life in the wilderness was contaminated by those appetites that could only be satisfied in Egypt.
The most important discovery for my people to make, is that the evil they are capable of under the influence of the flesh, can be matched only by the good of which they are capable of under the influence of My Holy Spirit.
There is no one time climactic experence by which they will completely annialate the flesh, but rather the Victory in me, demands an every day act of faith, and requires an attitude of faith. It is a moment by moment reckoning and your reckoning for this moment is never adequate for the next. And I can hear the "Apostle Paul" saying, the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, this I say then, walk in the Spirit and ye shall not covet the desires of the flesh. I turned and I can see "Simon Peter" walking down the street and the sick being healed because of his shadow. I can hear the woman crying out, if I can but touch the hem of the Master's Garment I know I will be made whole. And I fell to my knees and cried out, Master you have let me see how these men turned out by obeying the Blessed Holy Spirit, but you didn't tell me who the young preacher was or how things turned out for him and the Master spoke in such a tender voice and said, the young man let me change his name also, I said yes Lord but who is he? And the Rose of Sharon rolled back the time forty years and let me see and I was completely taken back, that young fireball preacher was me.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Finally, Brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Have you allowed the Holy Spirit to change your name ?
