He draws us nigh
when we get real close.
I feel His presence in the Holy Ghost.
His precious blood's atoning,
Heavenly host.
He draws us nigh
when we get real close.
Like a Mother's child
takes her tightly by the hand.
She'll lead it softly to that better land.
When lightning strikes,
no need to cry.
We know the Father
has drawn us nigh.
When the rain comes down
and thunder shakes the land,
the child grasps more tightly to Mother's hand.
Little child, no need to fear.
Just remember, Father's here.
He draws us nigh
when we're aching and in pain.
When we're going through the latter rain.
We get caught looking,
no end in sight.
Then we see the Father's light.
It is through His love we continue His quest,
not knowing what's in store.
But always trusting Him,
to stay close and to settle the score.
He draws nigh, when we draw close to Him.
Closer and Closer I want to be,
to walk upon the streets of gold and sail the Crystal sea.
