- Fiction No
Lord, don't let me be me,
I'll mess up your plans.
I'll take everything upon my shoulders.
Will I ever make it to the Promised Land?
Lord, don't let me be me,
I don't want this carnal mind,
If I had went to the cross instead of Jesus,
no grace would we find.
Lord don't let me be me,
get him out of the way.
I'm looking forward to that
more perfect day.
Cast him overboard O' Lord,
life jacket in hand.
No more can he get in our way,
no more carnal man.
