Overcoming Struggles

We can’t do anything about the past, but we can change the future. My biggest problem was that I did not know who Alice was or where was she going or what she would do when she got there. How could I love anyone if I didn’t know myself? I had a hunger in me that I could not satisfy and for a long time did not know I was searching after something only God could give. When I accepted Christ as my savior it was the beginning of real life.
Being born again means entering a new family-the family of God. You are delivered from the kingdom of darkness and translated into the kingdom of Jesus (l Corinthians 1:13). All Christian belongs to one body and Jesus is the head (l Corinthians 12:13). Our body is His Church (l Colossians 1:14-19). You need to be a member of a local church that believes the word of God and exalts Jesus as the way to salvation (Acts 4:12). When you accept Jesus as your Lord, you assume some new responsibilities. You must trust in, surrender to, and rely upon Him as master, ruler, and leader of life. Before receiving Christ you were your own master, making all decisions according to your wisdom and emotions. Now you allow Him, moment by moment, to control your new life.We cannot be in Christ and have the devil’s nature; either we are in the family of God or in the family of Satan. There can be no real development of faith, no strong victorious Christian life, with mixed conceptions. We either new creations or we are not. I have learned that if I am to maintain any kind of faithful walk, I must put down my carnal nature and let the love of God work within my spirit. In order for me to walk in faith I have to walk in love, without love my confession don’t mean a lot to God. To have faith and to receive answers to prayer, you have to learn to walk in love.
The pleasure I once sought have lost their taste and attraction because being a Christian is an incomparable privilege. God chose us because He has a task for us to perform. The fact that He has chosen us does not make us better than anyone else. It does, however, give us special responsibilities. Jesus needs us in His Church to continue His work of healing and loving. To love as Jesus did is a challenge and a great responsibility.
