Of course Adam had no previous experience with a woman, so when his "rib" was "ribbed" by a serpent into eating the forbidden fruit and she gave a bite to Adam, the man had no way of making a valued judgment of the situation. Moreover, the fact that he just had awakened from being anesthetized during an operation, in which a rib was surgically removed from him, caused him a grogginess that impaired his reasoning ability. After the grogginess subsided, however, he did notice emptiness in his lower left rib-cage. He took an inventory of his ribs, found one missing, saw Eve, and deduced what had happened.
That's when he angrily shouted at her, "You rib-snatcher, you're flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone. And, because you're made from bone, I realize you'll conduct yourself in a boneheaded manner!"
After they were kicked out of the garden, the very first words Adam spoke to Eve were, "Why did you listen to that snake, you bonehead? Don't you know women are supposed to be afraid of snakes? But, nooooooooo, noooooo, not you! You go right up and have a conversation with one of them!
"I'm breaking off our engagement. Please give me back my engagement rib. I'm going to remain a bachelor all of my life. Beside that, I'll never eat prime rib, or barbecued ribs, or spaghetti sauce with spareribs in it. "I wish there was another guy around so that you'd leave me alone and would get him in trouble, instead of me. Perhaps he'd be able outrun you when you offered him some of your fruit, knucklehead. Leave me alone. My legs and back ache, so I can't run fast enough to get away from a bonehead like you, you rib bandit!
Now I can't say if the rest is history, but this sure is a boneheaded fantasy!
