I heard a friend say, "Stuff I used to believe as truth, I have grown out of," Amen! I know that's right. Sometimes it's mind boggling when I think back over stuff that I'm been taught by man and have since been showed by the Holy Ghost as false. One time I was so fed up with man's teachings that I went to God and told Him I had been taught so many things by man that I wanted Him to teach me. He took me out of the conventional church (so the only voice I heard would be His) and for a year He taught me. I would get up in the morning send my husband off to work and my kids to school and I would sit down with my bible and a note pad and start reading and writing. Sometimes I would be so engrossed I would look up and it would be time for me to go get the kids from school. I have since lost my note book and my aging memory has forgotten a lot of stuff but every once in a while I'll read something and a memory will flicker, come to mind. So, I can stand with Paul and say, "I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ."
If it comes by way of man, I may be persuaded to change my mind or way of thinking but when it comes by way of a revelation there ain't no way you're changing my mind. If God said it I believe it and that settles it! Amen!
