Mary's Lamb

Christian Author Writer I'm sure I am not the first one to think along this line, but how often are we given revelations of something written years ago, and find it coincides with what is happening in today's world?

This is something that I pondered one day while sitting in the car, waiting on my husband, somewhere in Ky, I think last year (2005). And I wrote it down....
The songs of my childhood, for some reason, came to me...and when I thought of "Mary had a Little Lamb", it dawned on me, my mind opened to something so spectacular, that this simple song, as old as it is, has a flavor of the "Son of God", born of Mary, and is "The Lamb of God"....My Saviour!

Supposedly, the true story is found at the following url: ww.businesstracks.com .
Also, following is the lyrics, Written By: Sarah Josepha Hale, editor of Godey's Lady's Book, 1830's Copyright Unknown.

The words I thought that day are written and placed in parentheses within the lyrics. I'm sure it could be written more in depth, and it was not done to deface a wonderful childhood memory, but it was such a revelation to me in that moment, that it startled me!

Barbara L. Richardson....Kentucky… April 26, 2006

Mary had a little lamb,(Jesus)
Little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow(sinless)

And everywhere that Mary went,(lived in her heart) Mary went, Mary went, Everywhere that Mary went The lamb was sure to go(Holy Spirit)

It followed her to school one day(ever present) School one day, school one day It followed her to school one day Which was against the rules. (today)

It made the children laugh and play,(joy) Laugh and play, laugh and play,(love) It made the children laugh and play(morals) To see a lamb at school(was taught)

And so the teacher turned it out, (liberals) Turned it out, turned it out, (atheists) And so the teacher turned it out, But still it lingered near (never leaves us)

And waited patiently about, (for the gone astray) Patiently about, patiently about, And waited patiently about (for truth) Till Mary did appear (rededication)

"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
Love Mary so? Love Mary so?(has something others see) "Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
The eager children cry (lost needing to know)

"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."(Jesus in our hearts) Loves the lamb, you know, loves the lamb, you know "Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."(living in us) The teacher did reply.
